Report on the Seven-Day NSS Camp

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of SDS Government College, Jadla, successfully organized a seven-day camp from 16 December 2024 to 22 December 2024 under the guidance of our esteemed Principal Geetanjali Sharma. Each day was dedicated to a specific theme, ensuring a meaningful and enriching experience for the participants. Below is a detailed report on the activities conducted during the camp.
Day 1: Vijay Diwas (16 December 2024)
The camp commenced with a tribute to the martyrs of the 1971 war as we observed Vijay Diwas. Students and staff paid homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. A patriotic atmosphere prevailed as speeches and discussions highlighted the significance of this day in Indian history.
Day 2: Keeping Humanity Alive (17 December 2024)
This day focused on the theme of compassion and health. A special lecture titled “Better than Cure” was delivered, emphasizing the importance of preventive measures in healthcare. The session was interactive and inspired participants to adopt practices that prioritize well-being and humanity.
Day 3: Youth for Eco-Development (18 December 2024)
The focus shifted to environmental sustainability as we celebrated “Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam,” a plantation drive aimed at promoting greenery. NSS volunteers actively participated in planting saplings around the campus and nearby areas, symbolizing a commitment to a healthier and greener future.
Day 4: Better Knowledge, Better Care (19 December 2024)
This day revolved around creating awareness about drug abuse. A Drug Awareness Rally was conducted, with volunteers spreading messages about the dangers of substance abuse. The rally covered prominent areas of the village, effectively engaging the community.
Day 5: Healthy Youth for Healthy India (20 December 2024)
Under the theme of health and well-being, a Red Cross Day Seminar was conducted in collaboration with the Red Cross Society, SBS Nagar. The seminar highlighted the importance of youth participation in building a healthy nation. Informative sessions by experts enriched the knowledge of the attendees.
Day 6: Sustainable Development (21 December 2024)
The penultimate day emphasized the significance of recycling and waste management through the theme “Best Out of Waste.” A special session was conducted by Mr. Ankush, who demonstrated innovative ways to recycle and repurpose waste materials. This interactive workshop inspired participants to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
Day 7: Culmination Ceremony and Cultural Activities (22 December 2024)
The final day of the camp witnessed a vibrant culmination ceremony. Village Jadla’s Sarpanch, Mr. Vaneet Rana, graced the event as the chief guest. He awarded certificates to the participating students and appreciated their efforts. The day concluded with cultural activities, including performances by NSS volunteers, creating a joyful and celebratory ambiance.
Conclusion
The seven-day NSS camp was a resounding success, fostering awareness, teamwork, and social responsibility among the participants. The camp’s activities not only benefitted the students but also positively impacted the local community. SDS Government College, Jadla, remains committed to organizing such programs in the future to nurture responsible citizens.
