Industry Visit : Vardhman Textile, Ludhiana
On January 25, 2025, SDS Government College, Jadla, SBS Nagar, organized an industrial visit to Vardhman Textile, Ludhiana, under the Higher Education Punjab initiative “HE-60 Industrial Visit and Exposure.” A group of 50 enthusiastic students participated in this tour, accompanied by Prof. Jaswinder Ralh and Prof. Harinderjit Singh.
The successful execution of this visit was made possible by the dedicated efforts of Vice Principal Priya Bawa. Their meticulous planning and coordination ensured smooth transportation, safety, and an enriching experience for the students. Their vision to provide students with industry exposure reflects the college’s commitment to holistic education.
The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of a textile mill and to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and industrial practices. Vardhman Textile, a pioneer in the textile industry, provided students with a first-hand understanding of industrial processes. The students observed various stages of textile production, including spinning, dyeing, weaving, and finishing. They were introduced to modern machinery and advanced techniques, which highlighted how technology plays a significant role in enhancing production efficiency.
The students were also briefed about the sustainability measures adopted by Vardhman Textile to reduce environmental impact. They learned about waste management practices and eco-friendly production methods, which are critical aspects of the textile industry today. The visit provided insights into how raw materials are transformed into high-quality finished products that meet global standards.
Prof. Jaswinder Ralh and Prof. Harinderjit Singh guided the students throughout the visit, ensuring they grasped the technical and managerial aspects of the industry. The faculty members also facilitated interactive sessions between students and the industry professionals, where the students asked insightful questions and gained valuable career advice.
