On August 31, 2024, SDS Govt. College, Jadla, hosted a one-day NSS camp, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to community service and campus beautification. The camp was conducted under the able supervision of Principal Simmi Johal, whose guidance and support ensured the success of the event. The NSS unit, led by unit head Sonia and coordinated by Prof. Neha Rani, Prof. Jaswinder Ralh, and Prof. Harinderjit Singh, played a pivotal role in organizing and executing the activities of the day.
A group of 50 dedicated NSS volunteers gathered early in the morning, ready to contribute to the college’s upkeep and aesthetic improvement. The day commenced with a brief orientation session, where the coordinators outlined the objectives and tasks planned for the camp. The primary focus was on cleaning the college campus and enhancing the beauty of the lawns, which serve as a vital green space for students and staff.
The volunteers, equipped with the necessary tools and materials, divided into teams to tackle different areas of the campus. They diligently cleaned the pathways, removed weeds, and collected litter, ensuring that the college grounds were spotless. The volunteers also pruned plants, planted new saplings, and arranged flower beds, adding vibrant colors and fresh greenery to the college lawns. The beautification of the lawns was not only a physical task but also a symbolic act, reflecting the volunteers’ dedication to creating a serene and welcoming environment for all.
The camp concluded with a reflection session where the participants shared their experiences and the satisfaction of contributing to the college’s upkeep.
