
The NSS Unit of SDS Government College, Jadla, in collaboration with Mera Yuva Bharat, SBS Nagar, organised a seminar on “One Earth Zero Plastic” under the Swachhta Hi Seva Hai Campaign of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The programme was held under the able guidance of Principal Mrs. Geetanjali Sharma and Vice Principal Mrs. Priya Bawa, with the supervision of NSS Programme Officer Mrs. Sonia.Students actively participated in the seminar. Neeraj and Arshdeep (B.A. I) spoke on the use of earthen pots instead of plastic utensils. Rama and Anima (B.A. II) discussed the origin and side effects of single-use plastic. Dilpreet Kaur presented a PPT on plastic waste problems. Minakshi (B.A. III) explained the impact of plastic on the food chain and spread of diseases, while Jaspreet Kaur (B.Com. III) suggested practical measures to reduce plastic use. The event was graced by Ms. Vandana Lao, President of Mera Yuva Bharat, who also publicised the Quiz on Viksit Bharat Yuva Dialogue. NSS Coordinators Mrs. Neha Rani, Mr. Hrinderjit Singh, Mr. Jaswinder Ralh, and Mrs. Paramjit Kaur were also present and motivated the students.
The seminar concluded with a pledge by volunteers and students to work towards a plastic-free earth.
